THT

I think what the author is trying to say in the beginning of his writing is that a camera photography should not always be considered “art”.  It is somewhat more.  A camera can make really any object look right if you capture it at the right moment.  Only real artist can really see and visual the image before capturing a picture, as would a artist drawing/painting a picture back in the day.  To be a photographer, you have to be a visual artist.
The author makes a point by saying that some people may think it is easy to take a picture and “express” their work because a camera is very simple.  You turn it on, point, and shoot.  However, it is simple for an average person.  If you are trying to make something of the photo its becomes a bit tougher.  It is all just in the moment.  He also uses the example of an artist and how he can change his concept as he if painting/drawing.  You do not necessarily have that option when you are simple taking a photo.  One slight movement or motion can change everything.
The fact of learning how to use a camera and/or or print from it is not the hardest part of taking a picture.  It is learning the structure of the images as a whole to make it look good.  I truly believe this statement is correct because today, any person from the age of 6 and up is capable of learning to take a photo.  It takes a little more effort to learn the concepts of the surroundings, where the correct angle of shooting is, and the structure as a whole to make a work of art.
A true artist can see the images with their eye and lens without thinking what they will have to fix of the image before it is actually taken.  This article really reassures me that I am no where near being an artist.  If i were to take a picture and I am looking at the image through the lens, all I am thinking about are the imperfections and how I can personally fix them.  I don’t think there is anything wrong with the fact that I do that, because editing and experimenting is what I enjoy doing.  However, the article definitely makes me think twice and see the difference between true art and simple photography.
